Total Recorder

Total Recorder records PC audio from almost any source, including streamed audio from programs like Windows Media Player, Real Player etc. It can also record audio from CD's, the microphone and other input lines on a sound card.
Total Recorder uses a virtual sound driver to capture the sound output from other programs like Real Audio and Windows Media Player. By installing the driver, and setting it as the default, different sound reproducing programs send their output stream to Total Recorder's driver and not to the driver of a real device. Total Recorder then passes the information to the sound card driver.

There are three editions of Total Recorder available: Standard, Professional and Developer edition. The software also has and a number of add-ons e.g. Video Add-On, Audio Restoration Add-On, Digital Mixer Add-On, OGG Vorbis Support Add-On and some others.

Standart Edition

Total Recorder Standard Edition is a powerful audio recording solution. The program records streaming audio directly from programs like Windows Media Player, Real Player, QuickTime Player and WinAmp. It also gives the possibility to record from CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, LPs or through a microphone connected to your PC. The resulting files can be saved in WAV format (plain or compressed), WMA, MP3, OGG Vorbis or FLAC formats

Professional Edition

Total Recorder Professional Edition includes all features of the Standard Edition providing many powerful functions for the recording, converting, editing, and processing of sound. With the new Video Add-on, you can record from any combination of video and audio sources. The Total Recorder Video Add-on allows you to play, record, and edit video files in AVI format. You can record from a video device plugged into your computer, such as a camera, or you can capture video directly from your screen. Professional Edition also includes a number of audio and video editing features.

Developer Edition

Total Recorder Developer Edition is an edition of Total Recorder that allows you to integrate the capabilities of Total Recorder (sound recording, editing, processing, and playing) with other applications. As a stand-alone program, it has the same features as Total Recorder Professional Edition.
