SoundTaxi media converter is the powerful DRM software to convert almost any digital audio and video files, both protected and non-protected, to commonly used formats such as MP3, M4A (AAC), WMA, WAV audio, MP4, DivX, WMV video for use with any audio and video playing devices. As input files SoundTaxi actually supports any audio and video formats which can be played in Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player and Real Player including Audible audio books, Sony proprietary audio formats, Real Audio files etc.
This software performs "Virtual soundcard" technology i.e. the program re-records digital audio and video files using internal playback and saves them in universal non-protected audio and video formats.
The software supports batch file conversion mode with up to 16 files simultaneously. Maximum summary converting speed is 50X on Windows XP and 33X on Windows Vista.
SoundTaxi features a number of important functions e.g. audio CD ripper, YouTube ripper and mobile device synchronization function.
SoundTaxi program has an easy-to-use clear interface. In software settings you can configure audio and video file encoding options, organize output folder structure etc.
The program preserves ID3 tags for artist, album, title names etc.

There are three SoundTaxi editions available: SoundTaxi Platinum, SoundTaxi Professional and SoundTaxi Pro+VideoRip.

SoundTaxi Platinum is the basic edition. However it can convert any kind of protected and unprotected audio files that can only be played in Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player and Real Player except MIDI files.
The number of simultaneous conversions is limited to 2 files and the only additional feature is iPod synchronization.

SoundTaxi Professional

Professional edition of the program involves all characteristics of Platinum edition and includes new multi-conversion feature and the possibility to rip audio CD's. SoundTaxi Professional has the highest known conversion speed among protected audio converters. Its technology allows to convert as many files simultaneously as it's only possible on the PC where conversion runs. The program automatically detects the maximum number of files for simultaneous conversion and it depends on system CPU and memory usage. So the overall conversion summary speed is 50X with 16 files in parallel.
SoundTaxi Professional installation also includes audio CD ripper. CD Ripper retrieves the CD information (artist name, album name, track names etc.) from Internet if available.

SoundTaxi Pro+VideoRip

SoundTaxi Pro+VideoRip edition performs the conversion of protected and non-protected video files to iPod and DivX video formats for use on any MP4, DVD players, mobile phones and PC's. As a stand-alone program, it has the same features as SoundTaxi Professional edition featuring video conversion of the files that can be played in Windows Media Player, QuickTime Player and Real Player.
The top SoundTaxi media converter edition also includes a feature to convert and save videos from YouTube site. YouTube Ripper is installed as an easy-to-use plug-in for Internet Explorer 7 and 8.
